Control who enters, when and where – cards, tags, codes and video intercom.

Access Control & Intercom

Keys get lost, staff change and suppliers arrive at all hours. An access control system replaces the bunch of keys with digital permissions: everyone enters only where and when they are allowed, and every entry is logged. We install access control and intercom systems working with leading companies in the field.

In depth

How access control works

Every controlled door has an identification device (card or tag reader, keypad, biometric reader or mobile phone), a locking device (electric strike or electromagnetic lock), a door-position sensor and an exit button. All of these connect to a controller that decides – according to the defined permissions – whether to open the door.

The management software is where you define employees, groups, areas and schedules: for example, warehouse staff can enter only during their shift and the server room is open only to the IT team. A lost card is cancelled with one click, and the event log shows who entered and when.

Intercom completes the picture at entrances and gates: an outdoor station with a camera and microphone, plus indoor stations, monitors or an app that let you see who is asking to enter, talk to them and open remotely. IP systems can also forward the call to the responsible person's mobile phone.

How we work

How a project runs: Access Control & Intercom

From a single site to dozens of branches – the same structured process, from the first survey to ongoing service.

1

Site survey

We visit the site and map entrances, weak points, existing infrastructure and the customer's operational needs.

2

Design

Technology selection, device placement, cable routes and a bill of quantities – matched to the site and the budget.

3

Installation

Orderly work with minimal disruption to operations, with every point labelled and documented.

4

Integration

Connecting the systems to each other, to the monitoring centre and to remote viewing, plus on-site staff training.

5

Maintenance & service

Periodic inspections, fault handling and monthly service for chains and organisations.

Standards & requirements

Integration with other systems

Access control works best when it is connected to the other systems: a camera at every sensitive entrance shows who used a card, and integration with the alarm allows arming and disarming based on the first entry and the last exit.

Safety must also be part of the design: doors on emergency exits and escape routes must open as required in an emergency, and this sometimes has to be coordinated with the fire detection system and the building's safety consultant.

This is general information and does not replace the full requirements of the standard, business licence conditions or the instructions of the approving authorities.

FAQ

Questions & answers – Access Control & Intercom

What happens if a card is lost?

It is cancelled in the software and a new one is issued – no need to change locks.

Can entry be limited by time?

Yes. Schedules are defined for every group or employee, including days and hours.

Can the door be opened from a phone?

With modern intercom and access control systems – yes, subject to permissions.

What happens in a power cut?

We design power supplies with battery backup and define in advance how each door behaves – locked or open – according to safety requirements.

Can it be integrated with the cameras and alarm?

Yes – and that integration is one of the advantages of working with one contractor for all systems.

What affects the cost of access control?

The number of doors and sites, lock and door types, credential types, local or cloud management, and integration with other systems.

Can a phone replace a card?

Yes, with systems that support mobile credentials (BLE/NFC). Check reader compatibility and plan an alternative for people without a suitable phone.

Is biometrics allowed in the workplace?

Biometric data is sensitive. Use requires a review of necessity and proportionality, notice to employees and data security, and sometimes an alternative. Legal advice is recommended.

What is OSDP and why does it matter?

A secure communication protocol between readers and controllers that replaces the old, unencrypted Wiegand. Worth considering in new projects.

Do you also install intercoms?

Yes, analogue and IP intercoms, including integration with access control and cameras. In access control we work with leading companies.

What is the difference between fail-safe and fail-secure?

Fail-safe releases on power loss; fail-secure stays locked. The choice depends on door type and safety and evacuation requirements.
